SHV - S12E03 - An American Werewolf In London (1981)

This week on Season 12: Wolfamania, we wrap up our look into the year of the wolf, 1981, with quite possibly the most famous Werewolf movie of all time next to the original Wolf Man.  It's definitely the only other werewolf film to get full merchandising lines, action figure lines and even a spot at Universal Studio's Halloween Horror Nights. It is also the film that propelled special effects artist Rick Baker to superstardom and inspired the Michael Jackson, "Thriller" video. It won the fist ever academy award for special effects, is considered an all time classic and is some how still underrated. It is our distinct pleasure to bring you our official episode on John Landis' "AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON."

All that plus our musical guest, coming to us all the way from Mexico courtesy of Horror Pain Gore Death Productions, is the legendary death/thrash band Mortuary with their song "Holy War" from the incredible compilation record Death Metal Power From Beyond, available now at horrorpaingoredeath.com

SHV - S12E01 - The Howling (1981)

Welcome to the landmark 12th season of The Seeking Human Victims podcast. This is a "Spin off" season, going back to our wildly popular "Universal Monsters" season where the modern movie monster template was created and will be an annual feature here on the show.  Last year we looked at the children of "Creature From The Black Lagoon" with Season 7 - Aquatic Horror Beach Party, but now things are getting hairy! It's WOLFAMANIA brother, and the first begotten son of Lon Chaney Jr is the Werewolf craze of 1981 as we revisit the "Piranha" team of director Joe Dante and writer John Sayles for what is still regarded as one of if not the best werewolf films of all time....1981's THE HOWLING!

Plus we're always bringing the spooky jams....our musical guest this week all the way from Sweden are death metal ass-kickers RIBSPREADER with their track "The Bone Church" off the new comp "Death Metal Power From Beyond" out now from Horror Pain Gore Death Productions.  (Ribspreader appears courtesy horrorpaingoredeath.com )

SHV - S05E06 - The Wolf Man (1941)

In celebration of our upcoming season 12 - Wolfamania, here's a special re-release from our archives over at Patreon.com/OGScare!

Even a man who is pure of heart and says his prayers by night, can enjoy our podcast when wolfsbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright. Or something like that. Our journey into Universal Monsters moves into the next decade as we meet the obvious heir apparent to be the face of this decade, Lon Chaney, Jr. His rise to this role wasn't exactly what you'd imagine when you normally think of hollywood nepotism, though and we'll learn the fascinating story of how he came to eclipse the shade of his legendary father even if he didn't realise he had done so.  We also learn how nothing you thought you knew about Werewolf lore is true and most all of it comes from writer Curt Siodmak and this film . Don't get bitten! Watch out for pentagrams magically appearing on your hand! And be sure to tune into this episode.

Also we'll feature special musical guest "Poltergeist" of the HorrorCore Rap world and his song "Tall Man."

SHV - S09E04 - Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988)

SHV - S09E01 - Underworld (1985)

Shit's been weird lately in the world y'all, so we're just leaning into it in 2021 with one of the most depraved, sadistic & creative writers in horror history. Welcome to Seeking Human Victims Season 9: The Clive Barker Terror Timeline! This is a little different than our previous TT seasons (Carpenter, Craven) in that Barker has only directed a small handful of films so he falls more into that Stephen King category of legendary creators as a writer who's works have been adapted many times over.

In episode 1, we're looking at Barker's background and early life, his initial fame as a playwright and his transition into literature. The film we're covering was his first work on a film of any kind and he was hired to write the script for director George Pavlou after meeting him at a dinner party. The movie is 1985's "Underworld", and we're not talking vampires, werewolves & Kate Beckinsale but underground mutants, hookers & hoodlums in this late night British cable find!

SHV - Bonus Episode - 2020 Year In Review

Here is a special bonus year in review episode before we kick off Season 9 next week.

A couple of disclaimers:

- This episode is just Dan who recorded some quick, informal thoughts on the year. These are Dan's opinions and are his alone and don't necessarily reflect the rest of the Seeking Human Victims broadcast team or One Good Scare Productions as a whole. He talks about the various OGS projects and accomplishments that 2020 brought, goes over what his favorite movies of the year were, and pays some tribute to his fallen friends from the wrestling business.

-  Dan totally forgot to mention the movie "HOST" from director Rob Savage. It was THE film of the pandemic and captured the isolation and dread many of us were feeling. It was even recorded entirely on Zoom! That was another of his favorites of 2020 and is also streaming on Shudder.

SHV - S20E09 - The Devils (1971)

Yup We went there. Again. One of the most controversial (and more relevant today than ever) movies of all time. Ken Russell's 1971 epic,...
